HOW TO SCORE IN PTE?
Scoring high in PTE isn’t an easy task but that doesn’t mean that it is not achievable. It depends on your perseverance and motivation to work towards accomplishing your goal. Additionally, pay attention to the basics of grammar, guidelines and strategies taught by your instructor in attaining your goal.
Few basic facts that you need to get it right
It is imperative that you are aware about the scoring system in PTE. Having knowledge about it will help you avoid falling into a trap as some tasks consist of negative marking. If the question consists of negative marking, then you need to be cautious and answer only if you are absolutely certain about it.
Since most of your questions has time limit to provide your response, it is advisable to read the instruction for every question so that you can answer within the given time frame. Lastly, practice, practice and practice… go through as many questions as possible to be familiar with the question types.
Work on your weaknesses and take advantages of your strength
Identifying your flaws and working on them will help you enhance your score. If you find certain types of question difficult, then work on it. Applying different strategies and through numerous practice, you will be familiar with it. Remember to practice regularly and avoid making silly mistakes.
Manage time and keep focusing
In order to achieve excellent score in PTE, it is necessary to have outright presence of mind and be alert when tackling any question. Being alert coupled with presence of mind will solve half the problem. Having proper knowledge of English language is the other half. Time management comes with sensible practice. Mindfulness comes with focus.
Each skill is inter-dependent
You need to practice and hone different skills. You will need to have the listening skills to speak properly. You must have knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, coherence in order to write efficiently or answer Reading Questions. Follow the tips and strategies that you have learned. It is important that you get your answers evaluated as it will help you know your exact performance and where you need to improve.
