About the University
The University of Wollongong (UOW) is an Australian public research university located in the coastal city of Wollongong, New South Wales, approximately 80 kilometres south of Sydney. As of 2023, the university had an enrolment of more than 33,000 students (including over 12,300 international students), an alumni base of more than 176,000 [LC1] and over 2,400 staff members including 16 Distinguished professors.
In 1975 the University of Wollongong was established as an independent institution. Since its establishment, the university has conferred more than 120,000 degrees, diplomas and certificates. Its students, originally predominantly from the local Illawarra region, are now from over 150 countries, with international students accounting for more than 37 percent of total.

University of Wollongong Diplomat Scholarship is a 30% tuition fee waiver in any undergraduate degree *excluding Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Science and Rehabilitation, Education, Psychology and Social Work degrees.
University of Wollongong Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health International School Scholarship means upto 50% tuition fee waiver
Any undergraduate degree in SMAH *excluding Doctor of Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Science and Rehabilitation, Education, Social Work and Psychology

Postgraduate Coursework Scholarships
UOW Postgraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship is a 30% tuition fee waiver in any postgraduate coursework degree *excluding Doctor of Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Teaching, Social Work and Psychology degrees
UOW Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship 10% tuition fee
20% fee reduction Bursaries are also available to Nepalese student’s waiver

Wollongong students- PR Possibilities
International students who choose to study in Wollongong now have access to special visa arrangements announced by the Australian government in 2019. Under these new arrangements, Wollongong has been classified as a regional area for migration purposes.
Eligible students who choose to study and then continue to live in Wollongong will benefit from:
Priority processing and access to one of 25,000 dedicated regional visa places
Access to an expanded list of occupations that qualify for a visa
Gain an eligibility to apply for a second Temporary Graduate visa with an additional year of post-study work.
