Documents Required

In case you are not a fee-paying student, and choose to pay your tuition fees after your visa application has been approved in principle (AIP), you must provide evidence with your application to show you have money available to pay your tuition fees.

Evidences to show that you have enough money available to support your first year of study and living can include documents as follows:

  • Bank Statements for the past 6 months
  • In case you show any large deposits or if you have recently opened the bank account, it is important to explain where this money has come from and you will also be required to provide supporting evidence such as evidence to show the transfer of money from one bank account into another or that you have sold one of your assets
  • An education loan sanction letter from Nabil Bank or Nepal SBI Bank
  • Evidence of income from employment like a letter from the employer confirming the position, the length of employment, and the amount paid
  • Tax returns showing income and saving patterns
  • Sale of property agreements if applicable
  • Evidence of income such as recent business tax returns and bank statements
  • Evidence that shows you own any assets you get income from like a rental property with an evidence to support such as tax payments on income
  • Evidence of your financial guarantor’s identity and relationship to you with copies of identity pages in their passport and government issued relationship verification certificate

(Note: Only immediate family members such as wife or husband, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents and parents-in-law are accepted as a financial guarantor.)

Evidence of having money available must be in your name or the name of your financial guarantor. In case of education loan, it is important that you also provide evidence of how you will repay the loan.

You can apply for your visa online at www.immigration.govt.nz/apply-student-online or you can apply via paper application form.

Document submission is an integral and vital step of your New Zealand Visa application process. You will be required to submit notarized or certified copies of documents and transcripts of the following:

  • Academic certificates and transcripts
  • English language proficiency test
  • Proof of Identity which is your passport
  • You will require one photo if you apply online and two photos if you use a paper application form
  • You may be required to undertake a medical examination as proof of your good health
  • As proof of your good character, you will also be required to provide a police certificate
  • Statement of Purpose or Cover Letter to show your genuine intentions of applying for the visa
  • Your offer of place from an approved education provider
  • Evidence of Tuition Fees paid can be provided in the form of a letter provided to you from your education provider if you are a fee-paying student
  • You must declare in your visa application that you agree to arrange and hold insurance from the date you arrive in New Zealand until the day you leave
  • Proof of funds that you have enough money to live on while you’re in New Zealand which is NZ$15,000 for a full year of study
  • Work Experience letter along with verification of employment and pay slip if applicable
  • You should provide a copy of any letter you have received for declined visa applications for any other country with the reasons you were declined
  • Visa application fee of NZ$330 should also be paid along with your application.

If you are not a fee-paying student and if your visa is approved in principal (AIP) from the New Zealand Immigration, you will be now required to pay you tuition and provide the immigration office with your Passport, Final Offer and TT receipt of your fees payment to get your passport stamped with the visa to study in New Zealand.

You must provide a certified translation of all police certificates and medical certificates if they are not in English. It is recommended that you provide English translations of any supporting documents and copies of the original untranslated documents in order to avoid delays in your application process.

University Selection
