About the University
De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is a public university in the city of Leicester, England. It was established in accordance with the Further and Higher Education Act in 1992 as a degree awarding body. The name De Montfort University was taken from Simon de Montfort, a 13th-century Earl of Leicester credited with establishing the first Parliament of England in 1265.
De Montfort University has approximately 27,000 full and part-time students, 3,240 staff. The university is organised into four faculties: Art, Design, and Humanities (ADH); Business and Law (BAL); Health and Life Sciences (H&LS); and Computing, Engineering and Media (CEM). It is a Sustainable Development Hub, focusing on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, an initiative by the United Nations launched in 2018. The Department of Education awarded university a Gold rating in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Criminal Investigation and Policing Studies BA (Hons)
Overview Our Criminal Investigation and Policing Studies course teaches the skills required for ethical professional practice. It is the ideal choice if you are interested in studying policing and criminal investigation but do not necessarily wish to pursue a career in the police service. The level and depth of knowledge and understanding taught, develops a high level of critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving, but also the necessary skills required for a criminal investigator in the criminal justice or private sector.

Architectural Technology BSc (Hons)
Overview This programme focuses on detailed decisions about the design and construction of new and existing buildings and their immediate surroundings. You will look at the technological and engineering aspects, questioning the structure, materials and environment of buildings. This field is central to the communication of design decisions to members of the construction team - translating an architect’s concept into a buildable reality.

Design Crafts BA (Hons)
Overview Meet Helena as she explains the inspiration behind her final project and her experience at DMU. On this hands-on and multi-disciplinary course you will explore both traditional hand skills and emerging technologies while working with a wide range of materials such as hot and cold glass, clay, paper, fine metals, plastics, resin, wood and textiles. You will select a specialism and determine your own direction according to your interests and aspirations, establishing your personal creative voice.

Diagnostic Radiography BSc (Hons)
Overview Diagnostic radiographers play a key role in modern healthcare. Approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), on this course you will be introduced to a variety of imaging modalities and explore how these are used in relation to imaging different body systems, as well as developing skills valued in healthcare professionals such as patient care, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Accounting and Finance BSc (Hons)
Gain core knowledge and skills with various modules covering topics such as Corporate Finance, where you will explore the main principles of corporate financial decision-making and their impact on real-world financial decisions. As you progress, Management and Strategy will come into play, introducing the theory and practical aspects of managing organisations and the people who work for them. Other modules include Audit and Forensic Accounting, Strategic Decision Management and Contemporary issues in Accounting.

Law LLB (Hons)
This course has been designed by legal experts to give you a solid grounding in law, whilst enabling you to tailor your learning to an area of law that interests you most with the choice of six pathways.Bring learning to life with activities in our dedicated law environment, including a mock courtroom and client interviewing room. Participation is a central feature of this course, and teaching of law modules is augmented by a range of employability and placement activities.

Entry Requirements
Qualifications needed for Foundation study
Higher Secondary Certificate (+2) with an IELTS of 5.0.
Qualifications needed for undergraduate study
A-levels or a recognised Foundation course.
Students with 75% and above in HSC (+2) may be considered for direct entry to an undergraduate course.
Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio, an audition, or require a student to have a particular qualification.
English language requirements

- IELTS 6.5 for Business, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences and Humanities subjects
- IELTS 7.0 for MPharm, Nursing, Midwifery, Audiology, Speech and Language Therapy

Qualifications needed for postgraduate (taught) study
A four-year bachelor’s degree with 55% or equivalent, from a recognised university.
Students with a three-year degree may be able to complete a six-month pre-master’s before progressing to postgraduate study.
Some courses have additional entry criteria such as a portfolio, work experience or require you to have a degree in a related field.
